Undoing Each Hook

It was simple,

Yet elegant.

Embroidered lace.

Delicate

Feminine.

Covering,

Yet revealing at the same time.

She was nervous

Yet excited.

The butterflies in her stomach

Threatening to fly free.

With nervousness can come haste

Nevertheless she stilled her fingers

She willed herself to take her time

Her fingers finding and undoing each hook

Slowly

Peeling the lace back

Bit by bit

Inch by inch of creamy skin

Exposed.

Her heart racing

Faster.

She knew that his eyes were locked upon her

Not missing a thing.

He looked intently at her face

Watching as she undid the last remaining hook

And raised her eyes to his.

He caught his breath.

For he knew

And she knew

In that moment

The one that they had waited for

That she was utterly his

That she would always be

His.

I created this blog as a way to express myself using my poetry and photography. It is a reflection of who I am and of the things that interest me. I have many muses…perhaps the greatest one being my love of the sea, how I gravitate to anything relating to water, how I feel a pull toward it deep in my bones. At times I will be revisiting content that I have shared on Twitter which has, until now, been the forum I have expressed myself in. That said, the content will change over time as the blog grows and develops. It is my hope that the reader will enjoy the journey.
