Siren Whispers

Siren Song

Mea culpa

Smooth

like silk

nary a ripple

his composure

on point

always a reason

to be unavailable

distant

but still

holding onto her

it’s only a game

when she is wise to you

she becomes the problem

suddenly she’s quiet

and passive aggressive

but she’s familiar with

this dance

the one that backs her

up against the wall

mea culpa

hovering

upon her lips

I created this blog as a way to express myself using my poetry and photography. It is a reflection of who I am and of the things that interest me. I have many muses…perhaps the greatest one being my love of the sea, how I gravitate to anything relating to water, how I feel a pull toward it deep in my bones. At times I will be revisiting content that I have shared on Twitter which has, until now, been the forum I have expressed myself in. That said, the content will change over time as the blog grows and develops. It is my hope that the reader will enjoy the journey.

  1. I could interpret this piece in so many ways — and all exquisitely expressed by you. Beautiful, friend.

  2. This piece is beautiful, but my heart has broken wide open for you today for a different reason. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Sending you all the love and comfort I have to give, Christine.

    • Thank you, Mark. I am afraid that my wording was not the best. I just posted about that. It’s dementia, not death, though in so many ways it has been a slow death for the last few years, progressively getting worse. I appreciate your kind words. Thank you.
