Siren Whispers

Siren Song

The way she falls

She was a discovery waiting to happen.

The moment he saw her he knew

evocative of the unexpected scene you come upon

as you wander an unknown path;

eyes widening just a bit,

smile flirting at the edges of your mouth,

something to enrich your senses

and take your breath

and oh how he wanted to get lost,

lost in the way she falls.

and in the way he catches her.

Dusk speaks

Dusk speaks to me,

silent whispers

capturing my attention

like a finger dragged along

the spine.

My senses sharpen

as quiet takes precedence

over the lush

sounds of day.

Unbound and free

my mind becomes loud,

though I say not a word.

My fingers run

over the page

bringing forth

what lurks beneath

the placid surface,

with nary a ripple

to be seen until twilight

embraced me

and made me

her own.

He balances

on the edge of my sensuality,

precariously close and yet

too far

breathing in my essence

letting it saturate

allowing my taste

to settle

upon his tongue, savoring me

senses alive with

yet not touching

knowing I’d pull him into the flames

with me

Her neck

He adored her neck.

Her skin,

pale and perfect,

had the bloom of a rose

in winter.

Her neck,

with its pale elegance,

he knew,

if it were possible,

would be a place of pilgrimage,

a holy site;

one that he would readily worship at

using all of his senses.

Running his nose along to catch her scent,

it’s heady fragrance making him dizzy

with desire,

lifting her hair and using his mouth

to leave kisses along its length,

feeling her wildly beating pulse

beneath his lips.

His teeth would graze her skin,

igniting nerve endings,

causing a bolt of desire to shoot through her,

and finally, his tongue would taste her,

her unique flavor greeting his mouth

in celebration.

There is a feeling of lawlessness within her.

Tinder awaiting the strike of the match.

A riot of anticipation that begins with him.

Each day cuts her with sharp shivers along every inch of skin.

She is alert and aroused

every blink of her eyes refreshes the picture of him

every breath brings the taste

the scent of him

to her

ravaging her senses.

Images of them become a continuous loop of erotic film

within her mind

as she replays

hundreds of scenarios

each one causing her

to close her eyes

to still her breath

to control the rebelliousness of her body

as it becomes traitor to modesty

as the wanton within

begins to dance.

The taste of your lips

The honeyed tincture

I crave

With a fierce hunger.

Your essence

A delight to my senses.

Every synapse

Ignited and firing

Until all I can utter

Is ‘More’.

*Written two years ago. Some hungers fade while others are fired.

A pheromone so powerful

distance is no obstacle.

It invades his imagination

and his senses.

He can smell her when she’s not there.

Her taste is a constant in his mouth.

She has become a perfumed tempest,

her light touch

creating chaos in his soul

luring him back

into her arms.

*Not new but I like the idea of the senses being tantalised with the scent, taste and feel

of someone you’ve never physically met.

Owning My Senses

It is true that

From that first moment

I was awash in him

The very tone of his first words

Grabbed me by the throat

And hasn’t let go yet

He studied me

He learned me

He mapped me

And in doing so

Knew what I was ready for

What I was capable of

Within those moments

With him

I knew who I was

What I needed

What was inside of me

I learned to let go

And in doing so

I owned my senses

Each and every one

With a  freedom I had never known
