The ticking of silence

The mind becomes a ticking
time bomb, silence
settling like a fog.
Questions have no answers
and the weight of every one of them
smothers
what you do have.
You cannot breathe, for the journey
your mind takes you on
a whirlwind of emotions
you run down rabbit holes
better suited to a tale of Alice
and the person you wish to be
is masked
by this temporary madness …

Five days

Five days
and you will get on a jet plane
winging your way westward.
So much,
so little
time
to have …

Romance

Romance

is not expensive presents

or lavish flowery words.

It’s not a bouquet of roses

or elaborate dates.

It is the little things

that resonate with her,

that make her swoon

just a bit more,

as she allows you to become closer.

It is questions asked

that show you’ve been listening to her

and a gaze that misses nothing,

holding and heating her skin

with its intensity.

It is the slight touch of fingers

when you’re looking elsewhere

apart

but still connected.

It is sitting end to end on a couch

reading

silent but aware of each other.

It is your hand on the small of her back

guiding her

not because she needs you to

but because you can’t not touch her.

Romance is time given

when time is short.

A five minute touch to remind her

that she is in your thoughts as you are in hers.

Romance is what’s real

not fantasy

and there is nothing more real

than seeing her

and letting her see you.

Counting down

IMG_4905

It starts as a quiet whisper

blanketing days and nights

in the soft glow of promise.

A gentle, inquiring touch

that, as time passes,

becomes crashing heartbeats

thunder on a silent day,

or the sound of a ticking clock

in a hushed room

counting down every click

of the minute hand

bringing hands and hearts closer

as possibility becomes reality.

Time

photo

Time

Sometimes we think we have all the time in the world

To let someone know how we feel

To fulfill a promise

To achieve a goal

Sometimes we think that waiting for the right time

Waiting until we are sure about something

Is the right course of action

Never realizing how

Our hesitation

Our silence

Affects others

Time is not just the span of days, months, years

But can be counted in minutes, hours…moments

Moments when we can make all the difference
